Get an A+ on your teacher report card with meaningful social studies resources.
And don’t drive yourself straight into burnout doing it.
You want to kill it in the classroom with winning lessons every time, but you’re so overwhelmed and under-slept you can’t even see straight. You really just need a teacher bestie with kick-butt ideas who knows what it’s like to be in the teaching trenches. Oh, good news.
You’re in the right spot!
True Story: Sharing ideas and resources that make your teaching life easier is my passion.
Hi, there! I’m Madison Beardsley-
I’m a wife, recovering perfectionist, and Utah-based high school social studies teacher with an undying love for my label maker and Diet Coke.
I realized early on in my career that teaching meaningful and engaging history is sometimes a lonely business. I created The Social Studies Club as a way to connect with other like-minded educators passionate about secondary social studies education.
Fast forward a master’s degree and a few years. I am still here, devoted to anything and everything social studies education. When I’m not found at school or reading the latest historical fiction novel, I am most likely at the movies with a big bucket of popcorn.
My Mission
I help overwhelmed and underslept history teachers like you make your mark in your history classroom without selling your sanity to do it.
- I believe it’s possible to simplify your classroom systems to keep your sanity.
- I believe every teacher has the potential to be the greatest and coolest teacher in school.
- I believe what’s best for your students can be best for you, too.
